CURRENT POSITION 
Sustainable Development Manager, Preservation Tours
Oversees the development of culturally, economically, and environmentally sustainable business for tour operator. Develops private tour packages to meet the specific needs of individual clients, and executes those travel arrangements on site according to plan. Administrative responsibilities include liaising with hotels, rental car companies, restaurants, certified local expert guides and tour attractions, and working closely with clients to create scenic and/or historically relevant tour itineraries to fulfill special requirements. Field responsibilities include welcoming tour members at the destination airport and ensuring all guests are accounted for before the tour begins; guiding tour members by car, mini-bus, boat, train, or plane while providing accurate and timely commentary on places of interest along the travel route; ensuring that accommodation, meals and service are satisfactory for all members of the group; managing hotel check-in/check-out and restaurant reservations, keeping passengers informed of scheduled departures and ensuring all members are on the transport before departing from each location; advising guests about bureau de change facilities, restrooms, restaurants and shops at each destination; resolving difficulties with tickets, seat allocations, or lost baggage; assisting with passport and immigration issues, and ensuring emergency medical care for any clients who become injured or ill.
